It was a mental goal for me to do see some wildlife in the first 7 days out of quarantine.  That meant today (Thursday) was the day for finding kangaroos.  We got suggestions from Google and locals that Belair National Park was a viable location to see Eastern Grey Roos in the wild, so we headed off for the 25 minute drive to the Adelaide Hills.  I'm happy to report we survived the very winding roads up to the national park, and saw Roos within 10 minutes of hiking!  We ended up on a loop trail around the flatlands in the park, and saw 15 kangaroos!  We also got to see the amazing rainbow lorikeets who are loud, wild, colorful little birds who chattered above us during our hike (that's why they called it Lorikeet Loop!). We also saw a range of other amazing local birds - Australian white ibis, sulphur-crested cockatoos, and a few more colorful birds we have yet to identify!

After our morning hike, I took the boys out to the playground near the beach in Glenelg where they got some crazies out before the rain started in on us. I definitely love being so darn close to the beach!
